Finding Joy.

Building Connections.

Creating Tomorrow's Kaitiaki.

Why send your child to us?

At Bush Farm, we are committed to building connections between the self, each other and our natural world. We create experiences that immerse our tamariki in the bush and on the farm, through a mixture of a localised place-based curriculum and free-play. We believe that education, as we know it, has to change.

Western research indicates children who experience outdoor play have higher pro-environmental attitudes,  are more resilient and resourceful. Indigenous knowledge (TEK) has long supported how a deep connection to the whenua fosters holistic wellbeing and in turn, supports a sense of identity and belonging.

We believe by combining both lenses, within a relationship-based environment, that our wider whānau can thrive in the knowledge and understandings of their world.

OUR MISSION

To give our learners opportunities to participate and reflect on real-world situations through authentic hands-on, meaningful learning.  We use community integrated and holistic approaches that inspire possibilities with head, heart and hand.

Testimonial

We’ve chosen Bush Farm School for our son as we feel it offers him such unique and valuable experiences. It provides a great balance to the rest of his week spent in school and mainly indoors. Katie’s passion and belief for BFS shines through, her expertise (and that of the other facilitators) is a real strength of the programme and is evident in the quality of the content offered. I love the cultural connections that are continually referenced and learnt as well. The experiences our son gets at BFS are ones he simply wouldn't otherwise get without the programme.
